“Naughty” Gingerbread Men Post

“Naughty” Gingerbread Men

naughty gingerbread men

A couple years ago my dear friend Trevor asked me to make him some “Naughty & Nice” gingerbread men cookies for his New Year’s Eve party. Apparently they were a big hit so now when the holidays come around it just seems like a natural thing to continue the fun tradition, albeit a nontraditional one.  So, do you think these little guys with the mischievous grins will be on Santa’s naughty list this year? Have a jolly “holly” day. 😉… [Read More]

The Posts of Christmas Cookies Past

Christmas Spritz Cookies-0574

Happy, happy holidays! Since I noticed other bloggers and online magazines have been posting photos of my Christmas treats, which I have randomly found, I thought I better post them myself! I haven’t started baking in earnest yet so I’m going to visit The Posts of Christmas Cookies Past! Probably the most fun and interactive cookies I’ve made were the Shake-able Snow Globes Cookies. These White Chocolate Dipped Spritz Cookies are dipped and delish and make fun little packages to… [Read More]

Naughty n’ Nice Gingerbread Men

S&M gingerbread men

Hello! This post might be a fine how-do-you-do after a five month blogging break but I realized something – I’ve never gave these spicy guys their own post page last year and like a good mother who loves all her baked children equally, I just had to. Thank you for indulging me. And of course, properly dressed for dinner. Carry On and Happy Holidays!

Red, White & Blue Patriotic Meringue Heart Cookies

patriotic meringue hearts treats

After two weeks of back-to-back political conventions, I’m convinced of the origins of global warming but no matter which candidate actually warms the cockles of your heart we can all come together and agree that meringues are delicious, can’t we? I made these tri-colored meringue hearts for our 4th of July celebrations but thought they would also be the perfect apolitical treat while still showing our patriotic pride. If you’ve been following my blog for the past seven years (!)… [Read More]

A Party To Welcome A Sweet Baby Boy

rubber duckie decorated cookies

Hello! If you’ve been following me on SweetsToImpress Instagram, you’ve seen pics here and there of the dessert party I created for my great-nephew’s Meet n’ Greet.  I not only had the fun of making all the desserts for the table but I also made the decorations!  I’ve been a very busy great-auntie for weeks but I was also very organized which was a tremendous help in not becoming too stressed to get-it-all-done. Since my niece had no preference for… [Read More]

Happy 2016 Update

decorated snowflake cookies

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. Mine was very nice – boys home, family for dinner, all healthy, and a new MacBook Pro which I’m finding difficult to transition to from two decades of using a PC.  I’m selling more images through Getty Images and wanted some better resolution than what I was working on. I don’t even know the name of the screen I had on my old laptop but the screen looks different at every… [Read More]

Spritz Christmas Cookies – Dipped and Delish!

Christmas Spritz Cookies jar-0579

When I was a little girl, about eye level with the table, I remember my mom making spritz cookies for Christmas. They seemed like so much effort for such a small cookie – filling up the copper colored aluminum tube, turning the nob that screwed the plunger down to push the dough through the tube and shaped discs.  Problem was you never knew how much dough was coming out – were you turning the knob too much or too little? … [Read More]

Fourth of July Red, White & Blue Bunting Cupcakes

Wilton-Color-Right-Red-White-and-Blue-Cupcakes

Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays – the festive atmosphere from parades early in the day to the anticipation of sparkling, booming fireworks late at night.  The entire day is wrapped up in a trio of colors and feelings that resonate from a place of deep love for my country. I love the patriotic bunting and paper lanterns strung across the lights that criss-cross from under the eves of the roof to the big trees in our… [Read More]
