Red, White & Blue Patriotic Meringue Heart Cookies

I made these tri-colored meringue hearts for our 4th of July celebrations but thought they would also be the perfect apolitical treat while still showing our patriotic pride.

If you’ve been following my blog for the past seven years (!) you know I love these light and airy puffs of perfection so in this post I’ll be adding links taking you to past DIY tutorials of how I made the meringue hearts, an idea of what you can do with them and how to make them three colors.

Of course, you can pipe the meringue “batter” into any shape. I used the same open star decorating tip to make the star, the kisses and the hearts in the photo above.

But I will tell you this – now when I use the Wilton ColorSwirl 3-Color Coupler I assemble it first and then fill the bags. I find this so much easier. It’s made a huge difference in ease of use. The photo below is from the post entitled The Fourth of July Red, White and Blue Cupcakes

Here’s an idea and DIY tutorial to make Meringue Heart Cookie Pops. These would be so cute all deck out in red, white and blue. The variations are endless.
