Red, White & Blue Patriotic Meringue Heart Cookies

After two weeks of back-to-back political conventions, I’m convinced of the origins of global warming but no matter which candidate actually warms the cockles of your heart we can all come together and agree that meringues are delicious, can’t we?

I made these tri-colored meringue hearts for our 4th of July celebrations but thought they would also be the perfect apolitical treat while still showing our patriotic pride.

If you’ve been following my blog for the past seven years (!) you know I love these light and airy puffs of perfection so in this post I’ll be adding links taking you to past DIY tutorials of how I made the meringue hearts, an idea of what you can do with them and how to make them three colors.

Meringue Cookie Heart Pops

Won’t they be fun to attach to Valentines? If you’ve made the meringue hearts you only need a few more things to transform them into pops. Meringue Mushrooms

Meringue Mushrooms are a special treat at Christmas time. I’ve usedthem to decorate Buche du Noels but I like to make them to give as gifts because they’re different from the regular holiday cookies.
