Decorated Cut-Out Knitted Mitten Cookies with Krusteaz

Are you baking to give as gifts or for a cookie exchange? If you want to try a new cookie recipe you might want to head over to the Krusteaz site where you can take the Holiday Cookie Helper quiz to find your cookie personality with a recipe. It’s fun and it’ll give you ideas and tips on trying something new. Krusteaz will also send you a coupon for a cookie mix where you can sign up to win a $100 grocery gift card.

I took the quiz and my cookie recommendation was for a recipe for Gingerbread Cookies with Spiced Buttercream. Oh my, that sounds so good!

When Krusteaz contacted me and asked if I’d like to participate in this cookie campaign I immediately said “yes”! For years their boxed mix of Lemon Poppy Seed muffins have been on my go-to “quick and yummy” list. Sometimes I’ll add fresh blue berries and a lemony glaze. I didn’t realize Krusteaz made mixes for Hawaiian bread, sourdough, corn bread, waffles and pancakes and cookies and these are just a few of the mixes.

I used the Butter Vanilla Sugar Cookie Mix to make these decorated knitted mitten cookies with fondant and sprinkles.

You can make drop cookies from this mix but according to package directions adding less butter will give you the consistency to roll out the dough for cut-out cookies so that’s what I did. What was nice about this dough is that it didn’t need to be refrigerated before using it which is a time saver.

What are you baking this week for gifts or for a cookie exchange? These cookies will be party favors for my mother-in-law’s knitting group’s Christmas lunch.

I’d love to hear what cookie recipe was recommended for your cookie personality!

Happy baking and happy holidays!
