Gift and Wrapping Ideas For A Baking Bridal Shower

Wow! This spring has taken off with bridal showers and the weddings to follow!

Thought I’d share a gift idea and presentation I came up for a bride who will be learning how to bake. I hope she’ll love baking as much as I do! If anything, it will give her a good start complete with a couple of recipes and my cell number should she have any questions.

Here’s the complete presentation and then below, I’ll break it down for you and resource the items:

See that big poofy tulle confectionery bow? Under it is 2 – 8″ cake pans stacked on top of each other. Much prettier than two aluminum grey pans, don’t you think? Tape the pans together so they don’t slide off each other.

I had this lovely pink paper with sequins from Paper Source.  Instant sequin sprinkles!

I cut a doily from a lace patterned paper I had in my collection, also from Paper Source.

The pedestal cake stand I found at Sur la Table.  I think it’s the perfect height to make any dessert feel special. 🙂

I have to show this photo again to refer to for resources because it’s the only one I took as I was running out the door to the shower!  By the way, the aunt of the groom hosted a lovely day at the Wilshire Country Club in LA where the weather was made to order.  Right on the border of Hancock Park with Larchmont Village close by. So worth the Hollywoodland traffic, narrow streets, no left-hand turn lanes or left-turn green arrows…! You can tell I don’t get up to LA very often but when I do I always go for a joy ride to look at the old established neighborhoods from the 20’s and the stately homes. LA. Who knew! Very Norma Desmond. 🙂

A Bridal Shower Styling for Shutterfly and so much more

I love the celebrations of weddings and the anticipation of the big day.  I’ve had the delight and honor to be involved with numerous nieces’ and nephews’ wedding preparations from making hundreds of rosettes to hang to baking and decorating hundreds of cookies favors for every guest to enjoy so when Shutterfly asked me to style and photograph a bridal shower theme party using their products of my choice, I couldn’t wait to get started on a bright and fun… [Read More]

Hello! Bridal Shower Styling Sneak Peek!

I hope everyone had a nice Mother’s Day.  I did!  Just a quick check-in today as I’m styling and shooting for a project for Shutterfly that will post on Friday. I’ve had a bit of an injury to my right hand which I believe has been from swiping constantly “to the left, to the left” on my iPad and phone and swirling all around on my track pad on my laptop which I use for everything, even photo editing and… [Read More]

Wedding Dress Decorated Cookies For A Bridal Shower

wedding dress decorated cookies

Over the last few weeks I had the pleasure of designing and decorating cookie favors for a bridal shower in Newport Beach this weekend.  What made these cookies special for me was that they were invited to the party by Mary Ann of the blog Classic Casual Home.  We were finally able to meet, have lunch and become fast friends in person after reading and commenting on our respective blogs and emailing each other over the past few years! The… [Read More]

Bridal Shower Tushie Cookies–Pink, Blue and White

Bridal Shower Tushie Cookies

Before I get into my latest Tushie Cookies, I’d like to welcome my Tri-Delta sisters who may be visiting.  I’d love to connect with you so send me an email to say hello and introduce yourself and I’ll say hello back!  I’m thrilled to have you here! Welcome. Back to cookies… When I made my original Tushie Cookies for my niece’s wedding, I had no idea they would be pinned and re-pinned thousands of times.  I’m amazed that post continues… [Read More]

Bridal Shower Gifts and Wrapping Ideas

I love to wrap gifts.  I always have.  Part of the fun for me is finding inspiration in the gift choice, the colors, paper and in ribbon.  Having an excuse to shop for paper and ribbon is like buying a new pair of party shoes.  I get giddy!     The inspiration for this “wedding cake wrap”, as my friend called it, since she thought it looked like a tiered wedding cake, began with the bride’s registry.  I noticed… [Read More]

Bridal Shower Tulip Cookies with a Plantable Tag of Wild Flowers

bridal shower cookies tulip cookies-21

These cookies have been cordially invited to Diana’s bridal shower. The bride loves fresh flowers and natural accents in sage green and soft yellow. Romantic touches on the leaves. Soft yellow edible glitter was sprinkled on the petals while the icing was wet and white pearlized powder was brushed on the entire cookie after the icing had dried. In keeping with Diana’s concern and love for the environment, I chose plantable paper to make the bride and groom tags.  Wild… [Read More]
