Just Icing On The … Wedding Cookie Favors!

initial wedding cookie favors

Say hello to my little friends… …and to 125 of their closest friends. Ta-da! Fini! … and a HUGE Thank you to my wonderful friend and expert cello bag stuffer, Suzi who single handedly assembled the cookie favors for me over 2 nights with many, many hours devoted to this while I glued together the rosettes. This took us much longer than we had expected even with the ribbon already cut and most of the bags pre-stuffed with paper. I… [Read More]

Wedding Decorations Dress Rehearsal…

wedding decorations paper rosettes

Just a quick update on the decorations dress rehearsal… I chose from stacks and stacks of paper rosettes I made and brought one set to play with for the prototype. This is what I decided on. The additional larger sizes worked out great. I will flip the tails of the ribbons over to hang on the right side. These will go on 12 interior doors of the ballroom. The groom-to-be approving one of the two entry doors to the villa. Today… [Read More]

Monday.

My college boy-to-be and I had a great time together checking out what will soon be his home away from home. We stared out with lunch at Phillippe’s in LA across from Olvera St. and the Union Station. We also took a slight scenic detour and drove through Los Olivos and Solvang. On our way home we hit Phillippe’s again with all the Dodger fans. Here is a picture of one of the college town’s landmarks. Bubblegum Alley You could… [Read More]

“Ponyskin? Naaaaaay!!!”

Part of my shopping success this weekend included these pretty pink patent shoes. They also match my pink patent Lilly bag perfectly although I’m not likely to pair them together but I could. I also bought a pair in a matte muted gold almost like a tarnished silver. I am loving the square toe. For $69.00, why not buy two? With my cropped white jeans I also bought this weekend? Lovin’ that too. In the Kate Spade store (I love… [Read More]

The Invasion Of The Body Shapers

I did it. I bought one of these. Industrial strength spandex. After trying on 4 of them. In a small, small dressing room. Without air conditioning. I was pulling (yanking) it up around my hips when my hand slipped and smacked me in the face as if I really needed the added encouragement. Only further proof it is down hill from here. “Sexy Back” – Justin Timberlake SHARE THIS POST:

“Is This An Ice Cream Question?”

Years ago Mr. P. M. was reading an article about women and how we are not as straight forward in asking for what we want as men are. In the article it used this example: While driving with her husband, the wife wanted to stop at the road side ice cream stand but instead of telling her husband to stop there for her she said to him, “If you want to stop for an ice cream that would be okay.”… [Read More]

Weekend Update #3: The Bridal Shower

After the ‘design consultation’ at the villa, the trip to the church for our table setting dress rehearsal and a consult with the florist, this bride still had plenty of smiles left for her party! I gave my niece 3 gifts for her bridal shower. The big package first. A plate of my mom’s. Very 50’s. Very cute. Next was the medium package. I gave her a framed picture of my mom (Grandma Mac) and her that I took 21… [Read More]

Weekend Update #2 – Wedding Table Settings

After the villa, it was on to another Martha project my niece is incorporating into the table decorations. It’s a is a grid of ribbon surrounding the table’s cake. Each table will have it’s own mini wedding cake as I posted about last week. They will sit on a yellow wooden square bordered by the ribbons.Since we had the bride for the morning, I asked my s.i.l. if we could get the same sized table and do a mock up… [Read More]

Weekend Update #1 – Wedding Prep

This weekend was a delight. It really began on Thursday as I pushed through making the rosettes from 6 PM until 4 AM then on Friday afternoon until 2 AM. Saturday morning I was on the road by 7:30 to drive (1 1/2 hr.) to the villa in Sierra Madre (Pasadena area) to meet the bride who had flown in from SF the night before and my bro and sister-in-love. This was also the day for the bridal shower and her… [Read More]
