Window Shopping For A Friday

It was a little rainy today and I’ve got the sniffles so I thought we could go window shopping together… Let’s go to Jack and Lulu. Every page is a pop of color and pulpy happiness. I must confess to a serious pulp fascination. For one of my ‘dream jobs’, I would own a stationery shoppe ~ with two ‘p’s!

I know exactly where I would hang this monogrammed piece in my girlie lavendar office.
I think it would go quite nicely, don’t you?
Framed, $50

Here they are again! Red and white paper straws!
Are we seeing a trend here?
Standing straight up in a big, chocolate malt. Yum!
I guess I’m not feeling that badly afterall. πŸ™‚

If certain nieces, who shall remain nameless, should be proposed to soon, wouldn’t this recipe box be a cute addition to their hope chest?

Do girls have hope chests anymore??

I just love stripes and polka dots.
Always have.

Is there anything more cheery?

Is it too soon to think about summer?

I have a lot of baking to plan for this weekend and a full week ahead.

This is what’s on the docket:

Champagne Glass Cookies order for 20 for a birthday party,
Collegiate Valentine cupcake care packages to put together,
Valentine’s to address,
A reception with Susan Hockfield, President of MIT, in Beverly Hills,
and my brother’s birthday dinner on Valentine’s Day.

I am putting together an album of all our photos from our childhood and making him chocolate chip cookies my mom always made.
We have 2 Valentine’s birthdays in our family and son2’s due date was also the 14th but he decided to sleep in for 10 more days. That should have been my clue to his reluctance to get up and go in the mornings. πŸ™‚

Have a fun weekend. Keep safe, dry and warm!
xoxo

  2. What a lovely, thoughtful and yummy gift for your brother.
It’s been raining buckets here today in Atlanta. More to come next week too. I’m so pale… I need some sunshine in a bad way!
Cozy up with a cup of tea and feel better from your sniffles.

  3. The heavens are pouring it on us here today. My daughter is in the midst of that snow storm in the northeast. She didn’t even have to go to work today!! I am sure my son and his wife will get it in NYC also! NO, it’s not too soon to think about summer πŸ˜‰ Have a great weekend! Such lovely things you are doing for everyone! xoxo

  4. Sounds like a wonderful couple of weeks!
My son was 2 weeks overdue and wouldnt budge! He is still a great sleeper lol!

  5. Back from Peru, I have been catching up on blog reading, and I have loved all your recent posts! I love those straws, the monogram, the cute packaging for baked goods–all so charming. Don’t know if you have Hobby Lobby out your way, but they have some adorable retro Valentine’s cupcake toppers–really cute!

  6. Congratulations! You have been awarded the Sunshine Award! You can pick it up at my blog here http://townandcountrymom.blogspot.com

  7. I sent my VAlentine’s out yesterday. 2 stomach flus & one double ear infection prevented me from getting a picture of both of them in their Valentine dresses at the same time in time to make cards. Totally didn’t think about it until you mentioned = Hope chests! OMgosh. I’m gonna need 2!!I always had my Mom’s cedar chest at her house, which she still has. It smells so good! (Maybe Grammy will let me fill it for both until they get older. OMgosh I remeber things for my wedding being stored in there. I can’t believe we begin again. *Circle of Life*. xoxo

  8. Wow, it sounds like you have a busy, busy weekend with lots to do! Love all of your picks from window shopping, you have great taste. And no, never to early to think of summer. It is always on my mind! Especially today. I’m right in the middle of that big blizzard going on right now in the Northeast. I’m stranded. We have about 20 inches so far. It is 8:30 a.m. and it not suppose to let up until around 3 this afternoon. I have to keep going out to shovel a little patch for Stella to piddle. What a PAIN!
Have a wonderful weekend, and I hope you are feeling better πŸ™‚
    XOXO
