Monday Perspective

As I’m taking a moment to think out my schedule this week which will include a cupcake tower with a snowflake theme and snowflake cookies, I’m also thinking of two strangely polar dining events that are taking place today.

My brother and his wife are on day 4 without electricity from the Santa Ana winds that blew through Pasadena last week. They are eating of out an ice chest where there’s going to be a curbside drop off lane for warm meals that is manned by neighborhood volunteers.

On the other end of the spectrum, my best friend and her husband will be at the White House tonight partying it up with the Obama’s.

One moment you could be dining with the President and the next, digging in the ice chest. You just never know. 🙂

Have a terrific week.

  1. Did you hand over your list of questions for them to ask him? Just kidding! Those cookies are beauitful with a capital B!!!
Those winds in CA are unreal…so hope they die down soon, I have never seen anything like it. Ironically though thats when neighborhoods and communities really come together.

  2. Funny, Tina. I don’t think my questions would be appropriate for cocktail conversation. 🙂

  3. I think if I had to pick I’d hang with the Obama’s! Cookies look delicious!! Happy Monday!

  4. Hmmm, PMP, I think I know which meal you’d prefer! Oh, and thanks for keeping me in the dark about my new decade 😉 Your cookies, as always, look sooooo beautiful!

  5. It is so true! You just never know what is the corner. Something tells me though despite all they are going through thanks to the CA winds, your brother and his wife are smiling and enjoying the bonding that only events as these can bring neighbourhoods and whole communities together.

Your cookies are lovely and delish looking!! Happy Monday , xo HHL

Nice cookies, but you don’t need an apostrophe when you are talking about partying with the Obamas. Otherwise, you would have to ask the Obama’s what?

  7. Very interesting. I hope your brother gets the power on soon. That’s terrible.

    The cookies are beautiful.

  8. Thank you gals. The electricity came back on after 4 days and they had a great time playing Scrabble by the fire. 🙂

  9. I like the mini snowflake cookies. Looks delicious.

  10. i am trying to make these cookies right now and I might be in over my head. Can you come up to Newport and take over? Just kidding of course….not really.
