Hell In A Handbasket vs. Handbags

My mother is turning over in her grave this morning.
Jerry Brown is Governor once again. For the third time actually. My mom being Catholic believed the Jesuits would never kick anyone out of the order but she believed they kicked out Jerry Brown. I can’t understand his victory but as my wise friend said, the people that put him in office weren’t born when he was Governor or they don’t remember. And Barbara ‘Don’t Call Me Ma’am’ Boxer is an embarrassment and I felt was very disrespectful to our military.

I am very happy however the marijuana initiative did not pass as if our state’s reputation needed further nutty fodder. I won’t even go into the can of worms that would have opened. I read today they are going to try again in 2012.
What is wrong with people?

This state is going to hell in a handbasket.

I needed to make sense out of the world today.
I went to my safe haven.
Nordstrom online. Handbags. Not Handbaskets.

Longchamp ‘Victoire’ Tote

It just calls for a Dick Francis novel to be tucked inside, don’t you think?

Intrigued with the new Kate.
Stars and felt. Very wintery. It’s going to be 96 here today.
Something else that doesn’t make sense.

My compass rose. The Pink Handbag.
Reminding me, tomorrow is another day.

  1. AGREED on all accounts. It is NOT morning in California today.

  2. Yes, tomorrow is another day. Sorry to hear about Jerry Brown, and I LOVE the Longchamp tote! Hope all is well with you!
    XOXO

  3. Handbag shopping ALWAYS puts a smile on my face. Thanks for the suggestions.

  4. I agree completely honey! I am so appalled at our voting. I CANNOT believe that we put that idiot Jerry Brown back in office, and that we SERIOUSLY decided to give Boxer another try? Her 28 years of doing nothing weren’t enough? I’m so ready to bail on my home state more and more everyday. Hope you have a great day and love those handbags! Kori xoxo

  5. Hoping tomorrow things look better. I like your solution … nothing like a little retail therapy to make things seem a little brighter. HHL

  6. Move East Please. Thank You Very Much! Xoxo

  7. Yes, I agree with Preppy 101; move east!

  8. I couldn’t agree with you more. I live in Nor Cal. This is a crazy state.

  9. I ran into a prominent local judge’s wife a few days ago, whose brother is suffering through cancer and chemo. She told me that she thought it should be legalized nationally. I’m not sure I was very good at hiding my shock. Still, she had a point. She wanted to legally ease her brother’s pain. I see nothing wrong with that.

  10. Muffy ~ California dreaming. We’re getting there. 🙂

Ronda ~ So glad I have your sympathy! 🙂

BroncoMom ~ Shopping is always a mind release isn’t it? 🙂

Blondie ~ Two words.. Term Limits. 🙂

HHL ~ Oh yes, shock is always the toughest the first day. 🙂

    P101 ~ I just love you! 🙂

    T&C Mom ~ I love you too! 🙂

VJ ~ Sounds like good comic strip ideas. 🙂

Snooty ~ Medical use is one teensy tiny part of the equation. There are no road tests as for alcohol if someone is stopped for endangered driving and as a business owner what do you do if someone comes to work stoned? The productivity goes down and they can put themselves in jeopardy and worse, others. Would everyone run out and start smoking? No, but when it is more accessible the chances of it affecting your life in a secondary nature is greater. As for adding to the state’s economy I believe it would contribute to the crisis with law suits against employeers, thus effecting workers comp insurance, etc. The list of potential problems goes on and on. Say ‘no’ is my motto on this issue but I do respect the opinions of others. Thank you for your insight. 🙂

  11. Pretty things make it all better for the moment, don’t they? They speak to the Holly Golightly in every gal. XO

  12. yes! agreeing on all accounts!

  13. Agree on all counts.

  14. Well I admit that I wasn’t born when Jerry Brown was governor the first time but I certainly did not support him or Barbara Boxer.

I just recently moved to California and was really disappointed by the election results. 🙁
