USC Cupcakes

As a USC alum, the Spirit of Troy is always within and waiting to be shared. When I found out a very talented girl from our ‘hood had been accepted to the USC School of Cinematic Arts I had to jump into … “ACTION“!

USC Cupcakes

Believe me, we are going to see big things from her in the future. Like red carpet Oscar stuff and I’ll be able to say, ” I knew her when she ate my cupcakes!” And she’ll say, “what?” and I’ll tell everyone I know! 🙂

USC Cupackes

She is already quite a cinematographer and has made films with her own production company in high school! Is this amazing or what? I’m so impressed with her passion and focus and USC is very fortunate to have her join their ranks.

It’s my pleasure to welcome her into the Trojan Family and wish her the best of luck in all her endeavors!

USC Trojan Cupcakes! Fight On!

USC Cupcakes

While I was making the USC cupcakes I had to open my college box and see what was in there since I haven’t opened it up in a couple decades.  I loved seeing dozens and dozens of handwritten letters from my friends.  What a gift!  There were letters detailing how they spent their summer vacations and hopes for the next school year.  Lots of love letters from various gentlemen which were fun to read.  Nothing will make you feel younger… [Read More]

USC Cupcakes Countdown …Sneak Peek

This week the countdown begins to what hopefully will be a great game against the “other team that will not be named on my blog”, but they are our crosstown rivals from Westwood and have a teddy bear for their mascot, at least that’s the effigy that was tied to a stake and burned in the pep rally bonfire on campus a couple nights before the game!  HA! It was a great rally with all the players in attendance and… [Read More]

Tiny Prints Announcements and USC Cake Pops

usc cake pops

I’m very excited, thrilled, elated, to begin a collaboration with Tiny Prints today! When Tiny Prints contacted me to write guest posts on their Tiny Prints blog featuring my entertaining ideas and treats, I couldn’t believe it!  Since graduation season is upon us (and for my son too), we paired their USC graduation announcements with my USC Cake Pops.  They just seemed to be a match made in heaven by Tommy Trojan himself. We have more guest posts planned for… [Read More]

Collegiate (USC) Cake Pops … Traveler Rides Again!

Yesterday I was too pooped to (cake) pop because… … last Wednesday, I received an email asking if I could make 80 USC cake pops for a surprise 50th wedding anniversary this past weekend.  The couple met while both attending USC where he was a Beta, and she, a Theta.  Being a hopeless romantic and an alum myself, I said, “Fight On!”, which in USC-speak meant, “Yes”! I experimented with different cake batter recipes before totally delving in.  I wanted… [Read More]

USC Collegiate Cake Pops

I love tailgate parties and cake pops are a perfect treat to bring along. I guess it’s pretty obvious where my allegiance lies.   There are so many recipes and instructions for cake pops on other blogs and websites and of course there is the Queen of all Cake Pops, Angie at Bakerella so I’ll just show you what I came up with for my decorations.   I made my pops a little larger so I could have a… [Read More]

Tailgate!

A house divided with tailgate togetherness. Menu ~ *Chicken Curry Wraps Lentil Salad Team Colored Chips Grapefruit Margaritas *Vanilla Bean Cupcakes We kept the menu easy and disposable so we could go directly from the campus to the stadium. Since the filling for the Chicken Curry Wraps was a beautiful Trojan golden color, I found red tortillas to use for the wraps and cardinal and gold sandwich picks. Oh, yes I did! I made yellow cake cupcakes with vanilla bean… [Read More]

Collegiate Cupcakes – CAL

cal cupcakes

“Does this blue and gold make my back field in motion look big? This is a collegiate cupcake post with a fashion dilemma. In a few weeks we’re going to the LA Coliseum for the USC vs. Cal game. And I don’t know what to wear. My fashion dilemma goes much deeper than knowing I don’t look good in gold which is one of the colors for both Cal and USC. In fact, the color is so unflattering to my face… [Read More]

Sorority Slumber Party

I am cordially invited to attend my sorority’s fund raiser for the Tri-Delta house at USC. What a great idea! With school over and before the house closes for the summer, House Corps decided to invite alumni back for a sleep over. If I were to go, my room assignment would be ~“West Wing with Lady Kate”. Maybe the Figis will return and let a greased pig run loose during our dinner and perhaps when we are all snug in… [Read More]

Restricted.

In 1976, my sophomore year at USC, I shared an apartment with three girls. Jana was my roommate. Nan, who shared a room with Sherry, had planned on marrying at the end of the school year and had asked Jana to be one of her attendants. She was thrilled and soon they began planning the wedding together. They talked about the usual stuff, dresses, travel plans to northern California, the parties that would ensue. They were both very excited to… [Read More]
