For the next few days I’ll be baking 140 wedding cake cookies and then change it up by baking a couple hundred flower cookies on sticks for a landscape trade show but I’m determined to make decorated margarita cookies tomorrow because of 2 great colors of disco dust I found this weekend. Think traditional margarita and strawberry. These sparkly colors, along with pearl sugar I ordered last week, are inspiring me to take this crazy cocktail cookie side trip.
Having this kind of creative obsession is a double edged sword.
I clearly don’t have the time right now to devote to a completely new design, one I have never made before, but I can’t rest until I see ‘the vision’ realized.
Does anyone else roll like this?
I am so sorry to hear that. I feel your creative OCD pain. π
If you’re wondering what cookies the bride chose, you can revisit the cookie sample post here.
She likes #1, #2 but with the impressions of #3, #6 and #11.
So 4 designs will be gracing her tables soon.
She thought having multiple designs at her tables would be fun conversation starters for her guests and I think it’s a brilliant idea!
Have a terrific Monday!
We’ll have a margarita together soon! I promise. π
I like that idea of compare and contrasting cookies.
Now of course I am wondering what cookies designs you would have come up with for my brother’s upcoming Burning Man Shaman meets High WASP wedding. I can only imagine.
Lisa ~ That would definitely be a fun challenge. A wedding cake cookie with rock n’ rock flames? If this doesn’t call for disco dust, I don’t know what would! Would have to work pearls dragees in there somewhere for the high WASP element. π
Creative OCD – hmmm, think I’m there with you! Do you have any Keebler-type elves to help, or do you do all of this yourself? You are the Queen of Cookies!
xo Cathy — who could use a magarita cookie about now
Cathy ~ I can tell by your beautiful designs and detail work you know exactly what I mean! I fly solo but I have been known to make a party out of ‘packaging night’ with the help of my very best friend who either takes pity on me, is tired of hearing me fret or is in it for a glass of wine. Probably all three! It can take a very long time to package when filler paper is added to the bag, one-of-a-kind tags are made and included and a perfect bow is tied. I’m always amazed how long this step takes and every time I tell myself I should have allowed more time so I’m not so rushed. Hopefully, this time I’ll listen to myself. π
I wish I was your neighbor I’m sure you need a cookie tester I would so be your go to girl!
